My Business
I’m a strategist with 25+ years of experience helping organizations get out of their own way. My background spans finance, operations, and organizational development—mostly in mission-driven spaces, but I speak fluent corporate too. I also have my BBA from Marshall University (Go Herd!) and my MBA from Argosy University.
I launched Take Up Space Consulting because I was tired of watching organizations burn out good people with bad systems. I believe in clarity, not chaos. Smart decisions, not guesswork. And I know that equity isn’t a side note—it’s the throughline.
Clients work with me because I bring structure, insight, and a clear point of view. I don't just drop a plan and leave. I stay in it with you—until change sticks.
Why “Take Up Space”?
Because too many people—especially women, especially people of color—have been trained to shrink in rooms they were born to lead. My work helps leaders expand their influence, own their decisions, and build organizations where others can do the same.
The principles leveraged in my business are:
Responsive Engagement - listening to understand meaning and intent, rather than just hearing what is said
Center on “What do we know to be fact” - facts can be proven true or false; opinions are based on experiences and emotion
Radical Candor with Humility - say what you think while also caring about the person to whom you are speaking and be very comfortable with saying “I don’t know (or have) the answer!”
Effective Prioritization - what will we stop when we say “yes” to something new
Where My Passion Meets My Purpose
Unbreak My Soul: Safe Space Workshops
Workplace trauma doesn’t get resolved through another training on “resilience.” It takes space—intentional, affirming space—for Black women to speak freely, reflect honestly, and just be. These experiences are designed for Black women—but all who enter in solidarity are welcome.
Rooted in the research of Dr. Carey Yazeed, these certified Safe Space Workshops are designed to support Black women navigating the emotional toll of workplace bias, tokenism, and burnout. In September 2024, I was certified to facilitate these experiences—curated specifically to create healing, growth, and community.
We offer two formats:
The Vulnerability Workshop: A group experience tailored for ERGs, churches, associations, and teams seeking to foster deeper understanding and healing.
Unbreak My Soul: The Safe Space: An in-person gathering for individuals craving connection, reflection, and tools to navigate the workplace while protecting their mental and emotional well-being.
